The irrigated 8th green Heron stands out surrounded by the parched surround
With staff taking summer holidays much of our work has been very routinue as we try to keep the course tidy and playing well. The spraying programme continued on the greens with fertilise, bio stimulants and wetting agents applied,as well as trying to control the silver moss that is causing an issue on certain greens.
We have recently recruited Matthew Dunne to our team who lives locally, although not having any
previous experience he is very keen to learn and now brings our Greenstaff team to our full complement of 4 full-time staff with Geoff and Roger still continuing to help out.
The greens have recently been verticut which removes out dead decaying grass stems and thatch and opens up the surface for air and light to reach the plant, the greens were cut 3 times to collect up the debris and any remaining debris was then blown off to leave the green clean.
The wild flower areas are seeing many visitors of pollinating insects feeding on the nectar from these plants ,The Operation Pollinator area between the 5th and 6th of the Heron is the best it has been since the sowing in 2012
