I would like to introduce my new Deputy Nicolas Roberts who joins us from the Hertfordshire Golf Club. This is a promotion for him as he was an Assistant Green Keeper there. He has been green keeping since he left school and worked at the Essendon Golf Club before moving to the Hertfordshire. He is soon to complete his NVQ3 in Green keeping and spraying certificates. He is hoping to get married next year to his girlfriend who is the Sales manager also at the Hertfordshire and he is a keen low handicap Golfer being a member of Brookmans Park Golf Club.
Sam Cooke one of our Assistant Green keeper has recently left us  so we are at present looking to recruit a replacement .

                                                      welcome to Nick Roberts

On the Course we are continuing with our bunker drainage work at the 2nd green Hawk,Ditch clearing on the 3rd Hawk (Geoff Turner was very proud of his work with Craig on this ) and slit tining as well as a liquid feed on the Greens.

We have had quite a few moles around the course, some quite a problem damaging tees, both Craig and myself were inexperienced in setting traps, but having caught 3 moles over a two week period we are now more confident of reducing the mole population on the course.

The continued wet period highlights the problem with traffic control, and intensive wear areas especially around greens and tees as these are in constant use,

We have hand cut the greens a few times recently as it was unsafe to take out triple mowers on slick tyres. As you can see below in the video I'm quick at getting the job done.

Spring is arriving slowly as can be seen with the crocus in flower and a field vole recently spotted
